"All disease begins in the gut"
the microbiome field.
The largest population of micro-organisms in the human body is the gut ecology. It plays a major role in:
- Vitamin production
- And many other biological functions
Imbalances in the gut ecology have been linked to:
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Multiple sclerosis
- Diabetes (Types 1 & 2)
- As well as other pathologies
The greater sensitivity of our analysis method allows us to detect small variations in the fraction of rare mirco-organisms that would be missed by current methods.
To understand the link between gut ecology and disease as well as to determine the response to potential treatments, the ability to both detect and quantify is key.
