Soil Microbiome Testing
Targeted species-level soil analysis for biological product development, regenerative agriculture and soil microbiome monitoring.
Currently under development and used for research in Horizon Europe projects.
Why Species Resolution, Not Just “Community Profiles”?
Soil microorganisms drive nutrient cycling, disease suppression and crop productivity. Among them, functional bacteria like Bacillus play critical roles in plant growth promotion, phosphate solubilization and biological control. These organisms bring a significant contribution to soil health and agricultural performance, but standard diversity metrics alone cannot identify which species are present or how they respond to management.
REM’s ATGC platform quantifies specific bacterial targets with the resolution needed to answer practical questions:
Which beneficial species are actually present and at what proportions?
Do inoculated strains establish in the field?
Are target organisms increasing or decreasing over time?
REM’s soil panels measure the relative abundance of predefined functional bacteria at species level. We currently target Bacillus and related genera, with the capability to include additional bacteria of agronomic interest based on your research needs.

The Importance of Species-Level Data
Target Key Functional Groups
Measure bacterial populations that perform critical soil functions: nutrient cycling, biocontrol and growth promotion.
B. subtilis
B. amyloliquefaciens
P. megaterium
P. polymyxa
Track Strain Colonization
Track bacteria from applied products in soil over time and across locations, separating them from native populations.
